Buy local, eat and drink local, support local. In Colorado, the locavore movement has been in full swing for years and isn’t showing signs of slowing any time soon. In fact, it’s bigger and more powerful than ever: According to a recent study by the Boulder-based Brewers Association, Colorado’s craft beer industry alone is now a $3 billion industry, making our per-capita economic impact for that category of beverage higher than any other state in the nation. Local small food and drink producers—many of whom are quickly becoming big producers—are baking, brewing, roasting, and blending an array of products that are as fun and creative as the people who consume them. Many are organic or made with local ingredients; all are Coloradan. Here are some of our favorites.
