2018 was an exciting year.
Roaring Fork Lifestyle went through dramatic changes that allowed us to offer a new perspective on the interesting people, businesses, and organizations that make this valley the special place it is. I thank everyone for the love and support we have received. To our community, we must ask: What can we do to help you in the coming year? Our goal is to sing the praises of our valley while also serving its needs through storytelling and promotion.
I want to give a big callout to our professional contributors who are always finding new ways to make Roaring Fork Lifestyle special for our readers. A powerful engine is only as good as its parts. First, a huge thank you to my editor Caitlin Causey, a gifted wordsmith who gives life, organization, and soul to the editorial side of the magazine. Those of you who have had the opportunity to work with her know she is tireless and gives her heart to create the best work possible. Next, a huge thank you to all of our contributors but especially our core freelance writers: Suzanne W. Kirch, Nicolette Toussaint, and Geneviève Joëlle Villamizar. I have never met a team so committed to writing meaningful articles that both delight and inform.
This year we also added the skills of a fantastic local photography studio, Estate Photo Video. Owner Michael Hefferon and his team contributed photography for multiple features each month and have also taken assignments for our marketing partners. If a picture is worth 1,000 words, Estate Photo Video helps us bring even more life to our magazine.
2018 was amazing. 2019 will offer challenges, which we enthusiastically embrace. After all, what is success without a few challenges?
Wishing you the very best in 2019,
Rick French, Publisher
