‘Self-care’ has officially positioned itself as a major player in the zeitgeist. Wellness industries across the U.S. are booming, and it seems that everywhere we turn—or tap, if scrolling social media—the experts are telling us that we should be finding ways to do more for ourselves.

The cultural climate that spurred the self-care revolution is popping with reasons to make a habit of pausing and doing something good for our wellbeing once in a while. Whatever your reason is, the movement’s message is clear: it’s ok to be good to yourself!

What I love about most self-care activities is that they don’t have to cost a dime, and for best results, maybe shouldn’t. If self-care is on your list of goals for 2019, take a look at this month’s piece about keeping your resolutions on page _______. We’ve compiled a guide to local resources that’ll help you keep them long past January (many are cost-free or low-cost). In this issue, Roaring Fork Lifestyle also peeks inside a new Glenwood wellness center, explores the importance of home health care and companionship, and talks winter skincare with a local dermatologist.

Be well this month, and throughout the year.
