Reflections on a Milestone Anniversary

This month, I am reminiscing about when we first started discussing the prospect of creating a true community-sourced magazine. Some thought that a glossy coffee table magazine could never thrive in the mid to lower valley. But starting in December 2014, this new local magazine began appearing in mailboxes and public gathering places across the valley. Feedback and suggestions started to roll into my emails. People liked it. Roaring Fork Lifestyle was born.

Wow…five years, 61 issues later and counting, here we are. A couple of our goals were to create a social and business network. We’ve featured local leaders right alongside people not usually seen in the spotlight. We’ve showcased organizations whose hard work and generosity afforded education, safety, or better health to those in need. We created a professional network to introduce services and products offered by small local businesses to residents and visitors.

We want to thank all the individuals, businesses, and organizations that have allowed us to bring their stories to life in our pages. We also thank the team members who work so hard behind the scenes, including Caitlin Causey, our gifted editor, and the crew of talented freelance writers who work their wordy magic each month to create articles that have become the lifeblood of Roaring Fork Lifestyle. Also, an important thank you to our photographer Michael Hefferon of Estate Photo Video; his talent behind the lens is incredible and client service is second to none.

Lastly, we’re filled with gratitude for you: our readers. Without your support and the support of our marketing partners, we could not produce this publication. I am truly looking forward to 2020, “Year Six” for the magazine, and I hope you’ll continue with us on the journey of telling our valley’s story, one issue at a time.

Wishing you the happiest of holidays and prosperity in the new year.
