Dos Gringos Continues Anniversary Giving Campaign

During the 52 weeks leading up to its 20-year anniversary in November 2020, Carbondale’s Dos Gringos restaurant is conducting an $11,000 charitable campaign. Each week, a staff member will select a local nonprofit to receive a cash donation based on a percentage of sales. So far, such groups as Ascendigo Autism Services, Carbondale Clay Center, and Return to the Dirt have received donations.

“I’ve had this project in the back of my mind for a couple years,” says co-owner Julie Oldham. “I’m thrilled to align our business with 52 other organizations in a new way and learn even more about what they do.”

Basalt Library Celebrates 10 Years

On January 10 from 6-8 p.m., the community is invited to attend “Legends of the Library,” a celebration of 10 years of the Basalt Regional Library building. The family-friendly gathering will feature music by the Colorado Mesa University Jazz Quartet, food trucks, and book-themed activities for adults and children. Dressing up as your favorite literary character is encouraged (but not required). In years to come, the library plans to begin hosting a large January fundraiser. This year, however, the event is free and open to the public.
